Urdu Academy’s tribute to emerging new stars of Urdu poetry 1/3
The Urdu Academy of North America’s October 17, 2021 literary event was dedicated to the work of emerging new (contemporary) poets of Urdu. The program was conducted by poet Arshad Rashid who presented a well researched maqala on the life and work of new Urdu poets. Arshad Rashid chose 10 new poets to include in this literary event. These poets are: Afkar Alvi, Tehzeeb Hani, Umair Najmi, Ammar Iqbal, Ali Zaryoon, Imran Aami, Rehman Faris, Afzal Khan, Shahid Zaki and Atbaf Akbar. This video shows: Hatim Rani reciting Murshid poem of Afkar Alvi. Sohab Hamdani and Anjum Zishan reciting poetry of Umair Najmi. Maissom Abbas and Mehmoodul Hasan presents poetry of Umair Najmi.
