Sir Syed Day International Mushaira & AEEF Benefit Dinner in San Francisco Bay Area
(Continued Page three))

The International Mushaira preceded Aligarh Tarana. Many of the guests lined up for the Tarana in traditional black Sherwani and white trouser. Aligarh Muslim University Tarana, written by MajazLucknowi, is perhaps one of the finest anthem written for any educational institution in the world.
Earlier, the program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Imtiaz Ali. The audience was welcomed by SuhailFarrukh, President of AMUAA. MC of the event was Dr. Saif Zaman.
Dr. Shaheer Khan presented the details of the activities of Aligarh Education Endowment Fund (AEEF) in the current year and how the donations from our community have impacted the lives of underprivileged children across India. A video presentation made his point quite well as the call for action (Fundraising) followed which tapped into the generosity of the audience.
The Aligarh Education Endowment Fund (AEEF) was established in 2005 with the aim of enhancement and modernization of education, and improvement of educational opportunities for the underprivileged sections of the Indian society, especially the minorities. AEEF believes that its efforts should result, in the long run, in economically uplifting these groups and helping them to become productive members of the Indian society.
