Urdu Academy of  North America presents Gulhae Ranga Rang

The Urdu Academy of North America dedicated its monthly literary session to Gul Hae Ranga Rang where Urdu lovers presented poetry of their own choice. The event was held on July 21, 2024 at Chandni Restaurant, Newark CA.UA 7-21-2024 (13)

Anjum Zishan was MC  of the event.

Arshad Rashid, a senior member of the Urdu Academy welcomed the guests on behalf of the Academy.

As usual a number of Urdu enthusiasts presented poetry of their choice.

Anjum Zishan began the program with the recitation of a poem, Mirza Ghalib of Allama Iqbal.

Irfan Siddiqui was next to recite a poem Zafar Gorakhpuri, Dada, Abba aur maeN.

Roohi Husain was next to amuse the audience with her melodious presentation of two ghazals:

    Ghazab kiya tere wade pe eitbar kiya by Dagh Dehlvi

    Wo humsafar tha magar us se humnawai na thi by Naseer Turabi

Ahsan Ashary presented marsia from Mohsin Naqvi: Kal raat bazm mae jo mila gulbadan sa tUA 7-21-2024 (30)ha

Raana Rahbar, via zoom presented two ghazals:

    Jawani zindgani hai na tum samjhe na hum smj by Saba Akbarabadi.

    Yaad hai  Rustam o Suhrab hua kerte thay by Mubarak Siddiqui.

Abdus Sattar Ghazali amused the audience with his presentation of poem: Ilaaj Bil Ghiza (Treatment with Food). This poem was written by a Hakeem sahib from Randher, India. He was a poet.

Zeba Rizvi, via zoom, was next. She presented two ghazals.

Khalid Iqbal presented mersia from Zaheer Ahmed.

Saima Firdous presented Zooming (nazm), by Ashfaq Husain and Rang hai dil ka merey by Faiz Ahmed Faiz.UA 7-21-2024 (24)

Zafar Yusufzai thrilled the audience with his presentation of Bahadur Shah Zafar’s popular ghazal: Baat kerni mujhe mushkil kabhi aesi tu na thi

Mobeen Khalil captivated the audience with his melodious presentation of Saifuddin Saif’s popular song: Jab tere sheher se guzarta huN

Sulaikha Choudhuri was next to mesmerize the audience with her presentation of Saleem Ahmed’ ghazal: Mila jo kaam ghame mu’atabar banane ka

Suraiya Jabeen, via zoom, entertained the audience with her presentation of Shakeel Badayuni’s poplar song: Ye dunya hai yehaN dil ka lagana kisko ata hai

Talat Qadeer concluded the event with her musical presentations of:

Bazicha e atfal hai dunya mire aage by Mirza Ghalib and  Zindagi ke safar mei guzar jate haiN jo muqam by Anand Bakhshi
